RC San Mateo had its 19th Handover & Induction Ceremonies at Balay Kalinaw last August 7, 2025. It was truly a joyous occasion – a mark that engulfs a new chapter for the club, ready for its new upcoming leader to set ablaze. The passing of baton from its IPP (Irresistible Past President) to the newly elected GP (Good President). RC San Mateo is ready to begin its new Rotary Year with its new leader in helping the community and promote this year’s Rotary International message: ‘Unite for Good’.
Adrian Santos, had his last valedictorian address as the club president of RC San Mateo. He shared his journey, the successful projects that was passed during his term, and all the highs and lows between. For him it wasn’t an easy journey, but with the help of his members, he succeeded in every step of the way. He also got a leadership award as a plaque of appreciation that night.
In addition, even after 19 years, the club still has 6 of its charter members actively participating. They are not just mere members or chart members of the club, they are the back-bone, the power house, of which why RC San Mateo is what is today. All the club’s achievements are possible because of these past president’s guidance, and the knowledge they share to the club. We would like to thank these wonderful Rotarians who truly serve with purpose and with a heart.
This August we celebrate ‘Membership & New Club Development’ month. In line with this, we are proud to welcome 12 new members who will join RC San Mateo this year 2025 - 2026.
Charter members' guidance is one of the Club's firm foundations, bringing it to where it is now. In Rotary, all are volunteers and pay annual dues to RI and their Club. There is a saying that volunteers are not paid — not because they are worthless — but because they are priceless, and indeed, Rotarians ARE priceless.
This batch stands out more, since most of them are 40yo and below. We all know how difficult it is to gain new members who are so much younger than the status quo. However, RC San Mateo did it! Their GP alone sponsored 3 new members, who are in the same age bracket as hers. We are ecstatic to see our new members’ talent and passion, and how they can contribute to the community. These passionate, eager to learn Rotarians, is the new breed we want to see in our ever growing club.
Now, as we are turning to a new leaf, this young, Gen Z of a leader is ready to take the oath as the club’s next president. We don’t know what kind of leadership she will display, but everyone is intrigued on how she can command a room into listening to her ideas.
